About JoAnne
JoAnne is known for her nurturing and kind spirit. She is intuitive and leads with compassion. She holds sacred space for her clients that creates a safe environment for healing the mind, body, and spirit. She intuitively combines wisdom from her lived experiences, professional training, and education, as well as her gifts and talents to provide a transformative experience for her clients as she meets them where they are and supports them on their journey to wellness.
​JoAnne is a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula with Madriella Doulas and a trained DONA birth doula. She has also trained with Urban Baby Beginnings as a Perinatal Specialist, and an Advanced Community Doula .
As a Licensed Massage Therapist with 19 years of experience, she specializes in prenatal, postpartum, fertility, and womb massage. She also holds certificates of training as a FertilityAdvocate, PAILAdvocate, and Maternal Mental Health Advocate, and is a Lamaze trained Childbirth Educator. JoAnne also specializes in traditional postpartum care, which aims to nurture the mother and support postpartum healing, recovery, and replenishment. She offers postpartum womb massage with belly binding, postpartum pelvic steaming, and Closing the Bones Ceremony.
JoAnne brings a holistic approach to this work as a trained Health and Wellness Coach, Fertility Coach, a Certified Life Coach, and Reiki Practitioner.
JoAnne is a mom of 2 adult sons, a teenage daughter, and is a grandmother to 3 granddaughters. She has been in the field of supporting mothers, babies, and their families for over 20 years. As a former licensed family childcare provider, JoAnne provided 24-hour childcare from her home for 15 years to support families that worked non-traditional hours. She specialized in infant and toddler care. Before she opened her licensed childcare, she was an assistant teacher, lead toddler teacher, as well as back-up teacher for the infant room. She also has experience supporting families through the Henrico County foster care system
